Founders

CRAIG BURTON

Craig Burton is a high net worth investor in the oil and gas, mining, and technology sectors.

His philosophy is to identify and back quality new business opportunities, with a particular interest in early stage or development projects in the resources sector.  These opportunities are then pursued by backing (and adding) quality management and raising capital, either privately or through a public listing.

Mr Burton has over 15 years’ experience investing in oil and gas projects.  Current investments include:

  • The Marcellus shale in Pennsylvania (royalty retained)
  • The liquids rich Montney in British Columbia
  • Extensive onshore oil and gas licenses in the UK and Poland
  • ASX listed Grand Gulf Energy Ltd, which has oil and gas production in Texas and Louisiana

Mr Burton has 25 years’ experience in wider venture capital, including as:

  • Co-founder of 3 mining projects that became ASX 300 listed companies
  • Major shareholder and director of Capital Drilling Ltd, an African focused hard rock drilling company listed on the London Stock Exchange
  • Major shareholder and director of 5 private resource service companies:
    • Hofco Oilfield Services Pty Ltd – Queensland based hirer of specialty tools
    • Mader Contracting Pty Ltd – 300 diesel mechanics in Pilbara and Goldfields
    • Deepcore Drilling Services Pty Ltd – drilling services in Victorian and PNG goldfields
    • MSP Engineering Pty Ltd – recent EPC for $360m Lithium Hydroxide plant in Kwinana
    • Enerdill Pty Ltd (not a director) – 3 onshore oil and gas drilling rigs

JOSEPH GRAHAM

Joseph in an experienced Petroleum Engineer having worked in many locations around the globe including; North Sea, Middle East, South East Asia, Australia, Gulf of Mexico and North and South America.  He has worked in many technical and managerial positions from the super majors to small E&P companies, in both development and production.

Since 2011 Joseph has been working in the Gulf of Mexico in Houston, TX with a director role of a private company leading multi-discipline teams increasing reserves and production, from offshore deep carbonates to onshore unconventional studies.

 

Calima Energy is a public company listed on the ASX (ASX:CE1). The principal activity of Calima is investing in oil and gas exploration and production projects internationally. Calima has currently invested in the Montney Basin in Canada, which borders British Columbia and Alberta. The Montney is fast becoming one of the biggest producing fields in Canada. Calima has just undergone a drilling campaign to further analyse the prospectivity of the Montney formation in the company’s 72,000-acre lease holdings in Northeast British Columbia. The results of this analysis have led to a significant resource increase for the Calima Lands and confirmed the Lands contain high value hydrocarbons.

Tanami Energy was created in 2016 by a team of experienced professionals with the aim of acquiring oil and gas leases in mature oil provinces around the world. Tanami’s executive team has extensive experience in oil and gas, and a track record of bringing value to exploration, development and mature assets. Tanami’s asset portfolio currently contains an exploration permit in the North-West Shelf of Western Australia, with a leading prospect known as Santa Cruz.

Parta Energy Pty Ltd is an Australian based oil and gas company based out of Perth. Parta Energy has completed a farm-in with ADX Energy Ltd, to fund a 3D seismic program in the Parta Exploration license, onshore Romania. The program will acquire approximately 100sqkms of 3D seismic which will be integrated with previous 3D seismic acquired by ADX with the aim to generate a number of low risk, high reward exploration targets.

KATO Energy is an Australian company, focused on identifying and developing marginal oil fields in the North West Shelf of Australia. Kato represents a joint venture between 3 parties; Tamarind Australia, Aviemore Capital, and Wisdom Frontier.

KATO has been formed to combine 100% ownership of three permits:

- Corowa and Amulet (Commonwealth waters)
- Taunton (WA waters)

KATO is currently in the planning and regulatory approvals stage for the Corowa Development using an innovative relocatable production system, with plans to begin drilling early 2022.
